Job Description

Process all guest check-ins, verifying guest identity, form of payment, assigning room, and activating/issuing room key. Set up accurate accounts for each guest according to their requirements. Ensure rates match market codes, document exceptions. Secure payment prior to issuing room key, verify/adjust billing. Compile and review daily reports/logs/contingency lists. Complete cashier and closing reports. Supply guests with directions and property information. Accommodate guest requests, contacting appropriate staff if necessary. Follow up to ensure requests have been met. Process all payment types, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges. Balance and drop receipts. Count and secure bank at beginning and end of shift. Obtain manual authorizations and follow all Accounting procedures. Notify Loss Prevention/Security of any guest reports of theft.

Supervises daily restaurant operations and assists with menu planning, maintains sanitation standards and assists servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods. Determines training needed to accomplish goals, then implements plan.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

 

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.

Inspect public areas/bathrooms, restaurants, fitness center, pool area, offices and services areas after being cleaned by Housekeeper to ensure quality standards are met. Complete 5-10 Housekeeping inspections a week. Arrange turndown for VIP’s/any package inclusive rates, etc. Maintain procedures for lost and found; ensure all items are turned in and log is updated after every shift daily. Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets to staff (e.g., Housekeeping) as they arise throughout the shift. Review and maintain all Market Rate Codes annually. Complete designated cashier and closing reports in the computer system. Review shift logs/daily memo books and document pertinent information in logbooks. Contact appropriate individual or department (e.g., Bell person, Housekeeping) as necessary to resolve guest call, request, or problem. Run sold room reports, verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms. Assist Housekeeping management in managing daily activities. Act as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry. Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk. Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments. Communicate issues to next shift.
